Ruben Alarcon of Union, New Jersey, United States, his wife Andrea Alarcon and their daughters Scarlett Alarcon and Emma Alarcon have died. Ruben was 51, Andrea was 41, Scarlett was 9 and Emma was 6.
Ruben, Andrea, Scarlett and Emma lived in a two-story Cape Cod-style house on Lincrest Terrace in Union. The couple had owned it since 2000.
On October 31, 2023, the house was sold in a sheriff’s sale for $332,000 and they were given 60 days to vacate the property. It was bought by a nonprofit group that offers therapy for children with autism and other developmental disabilities.
At around 10:30 a.m. on January 17, 2024, Union County Sheriff’s Department officers went to the house to serve an eviction notice. They found Ruben, Andrea, Scarlett and Emma dead inside the residence.
A gun was found next to Andrea’s body. Authorities believe that she fatally shot her husband and their two children before shooting herself.
On January 24, 2024, a funeral mass for the family will be held at St. Michael’s Church in Union. Union Funeral Home – Lytwyn & Grillo is raising $25,000 to assist in paying for funeral and cemetery expenses.
