Dr. James Yu-June Wan is an Asian-American internal medicine specialist from Duluth, Gwinnett County, Georgia, United States. He previously lived in Mobile, Alabama, USA and in Cayuta, New York, USA.

Aside from Duluth, Wan has lived in other parts of Georgia including Norcross, Roswell, Lawrenceville and Macon. He was employed at a Vein Clinics of America location in Lawrenceville.

  4. On September 2, 2017, he was arrested after he and Brentz survived a car crash during a vacation at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort in Cherokee, North Carolina, USA. He was allegedly drunk while driving the car, which exploded after they got out.

  6. On April 18, 2022, he accessed a dark web marketplace from his cellphone and submitted an order to have a hitman murder Brentz and electronically transferred a 50% down payment of around $8,000 worth of Bitcoin.
  7. On April 20, 2022, he increased his State Farm insurance coverage of Brentz’s diamond engagement ring, which was appraised at $100,000. 
  8. He sent around $8,000 worth of Bitcoin on April 29, 2022 and around $1,200 worth of Bitcoin on May 10, 2022 as payment to have Brentz murdered.

In May 2022, Brentz was at his bedside in the hospital after he broke his ankles while going down an inflatable slide at their daughter’s school carnival when Federal Bureau of Investigation agents informed her he had tried to hire a hitman to kill her. She agreed to temporarily move to an FBI safe house with her daughter.
  10. On July 12, 2022, Brentz filed a petition for child support against him.
  11. On October 17, 2023, he pleaded guilty to using a facility of interstate commerce in the commission of murder-for-hire.  
  12. On January 18, 2024, he was sentenced to seven years, three months in prison to be followed by two years of supervised release. 
  13. On January 22, 2024, he sent Brentz an electronic message from prison saying, “I’m really sorry that you are in this position”. In October 2024, he will turn 56.
