Mason R. Porter, 38, of Rittman, Ohio, United States is not affiliated to any political party. On July 18, 2020, he registered to vote in Wayne County, Ohio.

On November 3, 2020, Joe Biden won the U.S. presidential election, defeating Donald Trump. On January 6, 2021, Trump’s supporters breached the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C., USA while a joint session of U.S. Congress was certifying the vote of the Electoral College and affirming Biden’s victory.

During the riot, Porter allegedly entered the U.S. Capitol. He is also accused of helping someone try to scale a wall at the U.S. Capitol.

On February 2, 2024, Porter was arrested by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents. He was identified in part from a photo taken by a city councilman from West Virginia, USA.

Aside from Rittman, Porter has lived in other parts of Ohio including Chippewa Lake, Creston, Akron and Wadsworth. He previously lived in Washington, D.C.

Porter is one of the nephews of David L. Porter of Rittman. The latter was born in Louisa, Kentucky, USA.

During the Vietnam War, David served in the U.S. Army. He later worked in construction for many years.

On April 24, 2012, David died at the Louis Stokes Veteran’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He was 62.
