Alvin Gonzales, 49, of Cavite, Philippines was an employee of Disney Cruise Line when he was arrested at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Broward County, Florida, United States.
An investigation started after authorities with the Internet Crimes Against Children task force were tipped off to Gonzales. On January 24, 2024, his ship arrived at Port Everglades where he was met by federal agents.
The agents conducted a border search of Gonzales’s electronic devices and found in a micro secure digital card a child sexual abuse video. A boy between the ages of 8 and 10 is engaging in sex acts with a girl aged 12 to 14 in the video, which is 9 minutes and 41 seconds long.
Broward County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Gonzales. He was booked into the Broward Sheriff’s Office Main Jail in Fort Lauderdale.
Gonzales is not only facing a felony child pornography charge. He is also being detained on an immigration hold.
On February 1, 2024, Disney Cruise Line confirmed that Gonzales is no longer with the company. Based in Celebration, Osceola County, Florida, the company is cooperating with law enforcement.
