Laos currently has one Miss Universe placement. Representing the Asian country, Payengxa Lor finished in the Top 16 at Miss Universe 2022 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States on January 14, 2023.

On July 23, 2023, Phaimany Lathsabanthao of Phongsali was crowned Miss Universe Laos 2023 at the National Convention Center in Vientiane, Laos. The respective first and second runners-up were Phiranya Thipphomvong of Houaphanh and Phavina Mounvongsa of Bolikhamsai.

Miss Universe Laos 2024

The Miss Universe Laos 2024 coronation ceremony will be held at the Saint Phila Convention Hall in Vientiane on June 8, 2024. It is the sixth edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Laos’s Miss Universe candidate.

There are 18 women competing for the Miss Universe Laos 2024 crown. If facial beauty is the only criterion, these will be my Top 5 candidates:
