Selena Gomez, 32, attended the 97th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, United States on March 2, 2025 with her fiancé Benny Blanco, 36. She played Jessi Del Monte in Jacques Audiard‘s film “Emilia Perez“, which Jacques co-wrote with Thomas Bidegain, Léa Mysius and Nicolas Livecchi.
Released on August 21, 2024 in France, “Emilia Perez” received 13 Oscars 2025 nominations. The film won two awards, which are Best Original Song for Audiard, Clément Ducol and Camille‘s song “El Mal” and Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldaña for her role as Rita Mora Castro.
At the awards ceremony, Gomez presented the Best Documentary Short Film and Best Documentary Feature categories alongside Samuel L. Jackson. Broadcast on ABC and streamed by Hulu, the show was hosted by Conan O’Brien.
During the event, Gomez wore an off-the-shoulder custom Ralph Lauren dress and a pair of Stuart Weitzman shoes. The dress featured hand-sewn Rosemont crystals arranged into a lattice pattern and more than 16,000 drops of glass.
A team of 12 Italian artisans created the dress. Because of its airbrushed glass, its pink ombré finish shimmered with each movement.
Styled by Erin Walsh, Gomez paired her diamond Bvlgari necklace with drop earrings, a diamond choker and her marquise diamond engagement ring. The “Emilia Perez” actress completed her look with a wavy bob and a peachy nude lip.
On the other hand, Blanco wore a pair of white suit and pants with a black peacoat and black patent leather shoes. He has been in a relationship with Gomez since June 2023.
On December 11, 2024, Blanco and Gomez announced their engagement. Their collaborative studio album “I Said I Love You First” will be released through Friends Keep Secrets, Interscope Records and SMG Music on March 21, 2025.
