The Memphis Safe Task Force (MSTF) of Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee, United States executed 44 arrest warrants and recovered five firearms on May 19, 2026. Among the arrestees are Stephan Thornton, 33, and Tony Williams, 26, who were both wanted for first-degree murder and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.
Moreover, Thornton was wanted in Shelby County for theft of property $10,000-$60,000 and possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested in the 3800 block of Kerwood Avenue in Memphis.
Willams, who was wanted in Memphis, was arrested at an apartment complex in the 9300 block of State Line Road in Olive Branch, DeSoto County, Mississippi, USA. He is awaiting extradition to Memphis.

MSTF
Organized in September 2025, the MSTF is a multi-agency initiative that combats violent crime in Memphis. Composed of federal, state, local law enforcement and the Tennessee National Guard, the task force focuses on arresting violent criminals, clearing warrants, seizing firearms and locating missing children.
Since the inception of the MSTF, it has located 150 missing children, seized 1,559 illegal firearms and made 9,312 arrests, including 73 for homicide, 1,029 for controlled substances, 877 for firearms violations and 105 for sex offenses since its inception. Among the arrestees, 960 were known gang member and 260 were juveniles.
