Lisbeth Stiassny Gersuny was a German-Austrian-American Holocaust survivor born in Frankfurt in 1901. She married Dr. Otto Gersuny, with whom she had two sons, and emigrated to New York City in 1938. Lisbeth passed away in 1986 at age 85, having outlived many family members.

Alofa Dawn Latafale Auva’a from Samoa won the Miss Pacific Islands title in 2014. She crowned Abigail Havora from Papua New Guinea as her successor in 2015, where eight contestants participated. The pageant, rebranded from Miss South Pacific, highlights talent and beauty across the Pacific islands. Special awards were also presented.
