Sultan Muhammad Dipatuan Kudarat was the seventh sultan of Maguindanao from 1619 to 1671, descending from Malay-Arab nobility. The province named after him, Sultan Kudarat, includes a city and 11 municipalities. In the 2025 elections, Datu Pax Mangudadatu became governor, and Chelsea Lovely Cabias Fernandez represented the province in the Miss Universe Philippines.

2019 Sultan Kudarat congressmen, governor, vice governor, board members elected
Sultan Kudarat, a province in the Soccsksargen region of the Philippines, was founded in 1973 and named after Sultan Muhammad Dipatuan Kudarat. The province elected new officials in the 2019 general elections. It includes Tacurong city and 11 municipalities. Notably, Sharifa Akeel, an alumna of a local college, won titles in beauty pageants.
