Tailei Qi, a Chinese PhD student at UNC-Chapel Hill, is passionate about nanoparticle synthesis, optical trapping, and machine learning. He enjoys sports and has a diverse academic and professional background. Unfortunately, his time at the university took a tragic turn when he allegedly shot and killed a colleague, leading to his being deemed unfit for trial.
