  5. In 1963, his brothers John Laurence Mahoney and Jeffrey Allan Mahoney were born.
  6. He was an avid fan of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). In particular, he loved to cheer for NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon, who was born in Vallejo, California, USA in 1971.
  7. He worked as a clerk at Nikki’s Speedy Mart, a convenience store in Whitney, Spartanburg County, South Carolina. Shortly after 3 a.m. on September 16, 1999, Richard Bernard Moore, then 26, of Spartanburg robbed the store and fatally shot him.
  8. He died at the age of 42.
