Richard D. “Dick” Mitchell was a native of Texas, United States and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He has two brothers namely Erwin Mitchell and Harold Mitchell and a sister named Lois Hammel.

9. He was one of the original drivers for North Webster EMS when it was formed in 1975. On August 7, 1975, his daughter Laurel was found dead in the Elkhart River in Noble County, Indiana.
10. After he and Wilma divorced, he married Sue Ann Ray on February 14, 1981.
11. In 1992, he retired from Accur-Cut Machine Shop where he worked as a machinist and a salesperson.
12. He served as the co-chairman for the North Webster Winter Festival in 2010 and 2011.
13. At 8:10 a.m. on January 16, 2012, he died at his residence in Warsaw, Kosciusko County, Indiana. He was 81.
