Maria Myrna Panlilio Borromeo was the Filipino beauty queen who represented the Philippines in the 13th edition of Miss Universe. It was won by Kyriaki “Corinna” Tsopei of Greece.

BIOGRAPHY

Borromeo and her husband Dr. Ramon Noel Borromeo have three children together. His mother Amparo Noel of Cebu, Philippines was crowned the Queen of Visayas in 1912.

1960s

  • On June 24, 1964, she was selected as one of the 15 Bb. Pilipinas 1964 candidates. She was one of the 15 Filipina Maid of Cotton 1964 candidates but she withdrew from the competition before the coronation ceremony on July 3, 1964 at the Philamlife Auditorium in Manila, Metro Manila.
  • On July 5, 1964, she competed against 14 other Bb. Pilipinas 1964 candidates at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. She ranked first and was crowned Bb. Pilipinas Universe 1964.
  • On August 1, 1964, she represented the Philippines at Miss Universe 1964 and competed against 59 other candidates at the Miami Beach Convention Hall in Miami Beach, Florida, United States. She was unplaced.
  • On February 16, 1965, she and Tsopei performed in the World Beauty Queens show at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
  • On July 4, 1965, she went back to the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City to crown her successor Bb. Pilipinas Universe 1965 Louise Vail Aurelio.

2000s

  • On March 29, 2000, her son RJ and Trina Grimalt got married at a Nayong Pilipino chapel. It was attended by Mitzi, Trisha, Estrada, her youngest sister Teresita Panlilio Fonacier, Jorge Araneta, Imelda Cojuangco, Precy Ejercito and Anthony Dee.
  • On January 8, 2003, her daughter Trisha died from lymphoma at age 31.
  • On November 19, 2008, she turned 66.
  • On July 16, 2009, she was with her sister Lu Panlilio for a general checkup at the Makati Medical Center in Makati City, Metro Manila. She died at the hospital after suffering from cardiac arrest due to a gall bladder disease.
