The 65th edition of Miss Universe will take place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines on January 30, 2017. A total of 86 women are vying for the title as the successor of Pia Wurtzbach, 27, of the Philippines.

On December 20, 2015, Wurtzbach was crowned Miss Universe 2015 at The AXIS in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Ariadna Gutierrez of Colombia and Olivia Jordan of the U.S. were the respective first and second runners-up.
