Paul-abraham Kobieni enjoyed his stay in Taiwan when he represented his home country Côte d’Ivoire at Mister Ocean 2017. He has nothing but good words about not only Taiwanese people but Asians in general.
“Asian people are amazing and wonderful,” Kobieni said in a statement exclusively obtained by Conan Daily. For him, his most memorable experience from Mister Ocean 2017 was the way he and his fellow candidates showed harmony, cooperation and unity.
When Mister Ocean 2017 culminated in Kaohsiung, Taiwan on Nov. 24, Mister Bosnia and Herzegovina Ermin Poturak was declared the first ever titleholder of the international male beauty pageant. Prior to this, the 49 candidates representing different countries and territories participated in various activities in Taiwan for several days.
Despite not making it to the semi-finals, Kobieni won in two categories. He was Mister Friendship second runner-up and tied with Mister Tonga Benji Sellick as Best Talent second runner-up.
It was Mister France Victor Simon Andrea Lombardi who won the Best Talent award with Mister Malaysia Christopher Yun Lin Lee as the runner-up. Mister Ecuador Adonis Cantante was runner-up to Mister Sweden Kim Philip Bohman as Mister Friendship.
According to Kobieni, he liked to tell his fellow Mister Ocean 2017 candidates each day during the competition that they were his brothers from another mother. He said there was a good vibe among the group and he felt lucky to have met his fellow candidates.
“Every contestant was very, very free,” Kobieni pointed out. He added that nobody felt alone even if they did not come from the same country and they had several differences in terms of language and other things.
Each of the Mister Ocean 2017 candidates is very special and has something that makes him “cool and perfect,” Kobieni noted. As for himself, he said he is someone who has a different vision of life.
