Polish strongmen Karol Bedorf, 34, and Mariusz “Pudzian” Pudzianowski, 41, will compete in the main event of “KSW 44” on June 9, 2018 at the Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland in the heavyweight division. Both athletes are veteran fighters of Poland-based mixed martial arts promotion Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki.
Bedorf hails from Szczecin, Poland and he currently holds a professional MMA record of 14 wins and 3 losses. “KSW” marks his MMA return as he went on hiatus in 2017.
The last time Bedorf competed inside the cage was on December 3, 2016. He lost to Fernando “Santo Forte” Rodrigues Jr., 30, of Brazil at “KSW 37: Circus of Pain” via technical knockout via punches.
When Bedorf made his KSW debut at “KSW 8: Konfrontacja” on November 10, 2007, he defeated Francis “Limitless” Carmont, 36, of France via unanimous decision. In the same event, which also marked his professional MMA debut, he had his first loss in the promotion when he was submitted by Alexey “The Boa Constrictor” Oleynik, 40, of Russia via triangle choke.
Like Bedorf, Pudzianowski made his promotional debut during his professional debut. On December 11, 2009, Pudzianowski submitted Marcin “El Testosteron” Najman, 39, of Poland via punches at “KSW 12.”
Fighting out of Biala Rawska, Poland, Pudzianowski currently has 12 wins and 5 losses. The last time he lost inside the cage was on May 27, 2016 when he was submitted by Marcin “Rozal” Rozalski, 39, of Poland via guillotine choke at “KSW 35.”
Pudzianowski was triumphant in his three most recent bouts. He knocked out both Pawel “Popek Monster” Mikolajuw, 39, of Poland at “KSW 37: Circus of Pain” and Tyberiusz “Tyberian” Kowalczyk, 39, of Poland at “KSW 39: Colosseum” on May 27, 2017 and defeated Jay “Da Spyda Killa” Silva, 36, of the United States via majority decision at “KSW 40: Dublin” on October 22, 2017.
“KSW 44” will be the third event of the KSW in 2018. In the co-main event of the evening, Kleber Koike Erbst of Japan and Marcin Wrzosek of Poland will compete for the KSW Featherweight Champion belt.
