Kleber Koike Erbst, 28, of Japan is on a mission to redeem the Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki Featherweight Champion title. The title will be given to the winner of the rematch between him and Marcin “The Polish Zombie” Wrzosek, 30, of Poland at “KSW 44” on June 9, 2018 at the Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland.

Koike Erbst competed for the inaugural featherweight championship bout of the Poland-based mixed martial arts organization at “KSW 33” on November 28, 2015. The Japanese MMA fighter of Brazilian descent failed to capture the title after losing to Artur Sowinski via unanimous decision.

On March 5, 2016, Sowinski successfully defended the title from Fabiano Silva da Conceicao of Brazil at “KSW 34.” But on December 3, 2016, Sowinski was dethroned after losing to Wrzosek via technical knockout via doctor stoppage at “KSW 37: Circus of Pain.”

On May 27, 2017, Koike Erbst competed for the KSW Featherweight Champion title for the second time. He challenged Sowinski at “KSW: Colosseum.”

After three five-minute rounds, Koike Erbst defeated Sowinski via unanimous decision at “KSW: Colosseum.” However, the Japanese-Brazilian fighter was stripped of the title due to missed weight.

Fighting out of Iwata, Shizuoka, Japan, Koike Erbst holds a professional MMA record of 23 wins, 4 losses and 1 draw. “KSW 44” marks his third bout in the KSW and he is yet to be defeated in the promotion.

On October 1, 2016, Koike Erbst made his promotional debut at “KSW 36.” He submitted Leszek Krakowski via triangle choke.

On the other hand, Wrzosek currently has 13 wins and 4 losses. He is fighting out Bydgoszcz, Poland.

The rematch between Koike Erbst and Wrzosek at “KSW 44” marks the fifth bout of the latter in the KSW. Koike Erbst is the only fighter to defeat Wrzosek in the promotion.

Wrzosek made his KSW debut on May 27, 2016 at “KSW 35” where he defeated Filip Wolanski via unanimous decision. In Wrzosek’s most recent bout, which took place on December 23, 2017 at “KSW 41,” he defeated Roman Szymanski via unanimous decision.
