Canada’s Elias Theodorou earns 7th UFC win at ‘UFC Fight Night 130’ in Liverpool, England

Fighting out of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, Elias “The Spartan” Theodorou recently won inside the Ultimate Fighting Championship cage for the seventh time. The mixed martial artist, who is of Greek descent, conquered his American opponent Trevor “Hot Sauce” Smith at “UFC Fight Night 130″ at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England.

“UFC Fight Night 130” kicked off with the match between Theodorou and Smith, who is fighting out of Tukwila, Washington, in the middleweight division with Daniel Movalhedi as the referee. After three five-minute rounds, the Greek-Canadian contender was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

The first time Theodorou won inside the UFC cage was during his promotional debut. On April 16, 2014, he knocked out Sheldon Westcott of Alberta, Canada via punches and elbows at “The Ultimate Fighter Nations Finale.”

After Westcott, both Bruno “Carioca” Santos of Macae, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Roger “The Silverback” Narvaez of Corpus Christi, Texas lost to Theodorou at “UFC Fight Night 54” and “UFC 185,” respectively. Theodorou defeated Santos via unanimous decision and knocked out Narvaez via punches.

On June 18, 2016, Theodorou earned his fourth UFC win by defeating Sam “Smile’n” Alvey of Waterford, Wisconsin via unanimous decision at “UFC Fight Night 89.” It was followed by another unanimous decision victory on February 19, 2017 at “UFC Fight Night 105” where he defeated Cezar “Mutante” Ferreira of Ibitinga, Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The sixth time Theodorou won inside the UFC cage was on November 18, 2017 at “UFC Fight Night 121.” He defeated Daniel Kelly of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia via unanimous decision.

After defeating Smith at “UFC Fight Night 130,” Theodorou now holds a professional MMA record of 15 wins and 2 losses. On the other hand, Smith’s record downgraded to 15 wins and 8 losses.

“UFC Fight Night 130” was headlined by Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, 35, of Simpsonville, South Carolina and Darren “The Gorilla” Till, 25, of Liverpool. After five five-minute rounds, Till won the catchweight bout against Thompson via unanimous decision.
