Carlo Pedersoli Jr. wins first UFC bout in Liverpool, England

On May 27, 2018, Carlo “Semento” Pedersoli Jr., 24, faced Brad “Bear” Scott, 28, at “UFC Fight Night 130,” which took place at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England. Their welterweight bout was the third match of the evening.

With Leon Roberts as the referee, Scott and Pedersoli competed in the welterweight division, which is currently dominated by reigning UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron “The Chosen One” Woodley, 36, of St. Louis, Missouri. It was Pedersoli’s first bout in the UFC cage.

After three five-minute rounds, both Scott and Pedersoli were still standing. Roberts raised Pedersoli’s hand as the winner via split decision.

Hailing from Miami, Florida, Pedersoli now has a professional mixed martial arts record of 11 wins and 1 loss. The only opponent he failed to beat was Yuki Okano, 31, of Ryugasaki, Ibaraki, Japan, who defeated him via split decision at “Real Fight Championship 3” on December 5, 2015.

After losing to Pedersoli, Scott now has 11 wins and 6 losses overall, 3 wins and 5 losses of which are in the UFC. When Scott made his promotional debut on December 15, 2012 at “UFC on Fox 6,” he lost via unanimous decision to Robert “The Reaper” Whitaker, 27, of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, who is now the reigning UFC Middleweight Champion.

On October 26, 2013, Scott won inside the UFC cage for the first time. He submitted Michael “Judo” Kuiper, 28, of Tilburg, Netherlands via guillotine choke at “UFC Fight Night 30.”

“UFC Fight Night 130” was headlined by Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, 35, of Simpsonville, South Carolina and Darren Till, 25, of Liverpool. They competed in a catchweight bout although Till came in overweight at 174.5 lbs.
