Brave CF star Stephen Loman: Team Lakay head coach Mark Sangiao makes me a good person

Reigning Brave Combat Federation Bantamweight Champion Stephen “The Sniper” Loman is currently in Belfast, Northern Ireland where he is set to have his very first title defense. Prior to the event titled “Brave 13: European Evolution,” the young mixed martial artist talked about the team he represents, Team Lakay, which is based in Baguio City, Philippines.

According to Loman, his Team Lakay family is helping him not only as an MMA fighter but also as a person in general. In particular, the reigning Brave CF Bantamweight Champion said that Team Lakay head coach Mark “The Machine” Sangiao makes him a good person both inside and outside the cage.

Aside from fighting skills, Loman learns MMA values through Team Lakay, he shared. Currently, he and ONE Interim Flyweight World Champion Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio are the two reigning champions from the team.

Loman was one of the fighters who competed on September 23, 2016 at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, Bahrain at “Brave: The Beginning,” the first event of Brave CF. During the inaugural event of the Bahrain-based MMA promotion, the Team Lakay fighter defeated Frans Mlambo of Ireland via unanimous decision.

At “Brave: The Beginning,” Loman said he was surprised to see his fellow Filipinos supporting him in Bahrain. He was the first Filipino fighter to join Brave CF and the first Filipino fighter to win a title in the promotion.

When Loman returned to the Brave CF cage on November 17, 2017 at “Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions,” he captured the Brave CF Bantamweight Champion title by knocking out Gurdarshan Mangat via punches. Taking place at the SSE Arena, “Brave 13: European Evolution” marks Loman’s third bout in the promotion.

On June 9, 2018, Loman will defend his Brave CF Bantamweight Champion belt from Mlambo at “Brave 13: European Evolution.” Their rematch will be the main event among the 14 bouts on the fight card.
