Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion Brave Combat Federation successfully made its European debut on June 8, 2018 with “Brave 13: Europe Evolution,” which took place at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The first bout of the evening was between Aidan James of Wales and Tommy Martin of Ireland.
“Brave 13: Europe Evolution” marked James’ Brave CF debut and Martin’s professional MMA debut. The two competed in the featherweight division, which is currently dominated by Brave CF Featherweight Champion Elias Boudegzdame of Algeria.
The featherweight bout between James and Martin ended at 3:53 of Round 3. The Irish contender lost to his Welsh opponent via technical knockout via punches.
After defeating Martin at “Brave 13: Europe Evolution,” James improved his professional MMA record to 2 wins and 0 loss. When James made his professional MMA debut on April 30, 2017 at “Adrenalin Fight Nights: Adrenalin at the Grand,” he also won via technical knockout via punches in the third round.
Featuring 12 bouts in total, “Brave 13: Europe Evolution” was graced by several celebrity athletes. Among them were former Bellator MMA fighter Bubba Jenkins, British professional boxer Amir Khan, English MMA fighter Darren “The Gorilla” Till, who competes in the welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship and former UFC Lightweight Champion Conor “Notorious” McGregor, who also trains at SBG Ireland.
Till was on the corner of Erick Carlos “Indio Brabo” Silva of Brazil, who defeated Erik “The Last Viking” Carlsson of Sweden in a lightweight division. Also, Irish singer-songwriter Jack “Jack L” Lukeman took to the stage to perform for the crowd at the SSE Arena.
In the co-main event of the evening, Norman “Stormin” Parke of Northern Ireland defeated Myles “Magic” Price of Ireland via unanimous decision. In the main event of the evening, reigning Brave CF Bantamweight Champion Stephen “The Sniper” Loman of the Philippines successfully defended his title from Frans “The Black Mamba” Mlambo of Ireland via unanimous decision.
