Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion Brave Combat Federation successfully made its European debut on June 8, 2018 with the 12-bout fight card of “Brave 13: Europe Evolution.” The third bout of the evening was between Benjamin Bennett of the United States and Sebastian Kozok of Ireland.
Adam Byrne of Northern Ireland was originally scheduled to compete against Bennett in a catchweight of 79 kg. Kozok replaced Byrne on short notice.
The bout between Bennett and Kozok ended at 5:00 of Round 1. The American contender was declared the winner via technical knockout via doctor’s stoppage.
“I respect everybody in the sport,” Bennett said after his victory. “But I’m coming for everybody.”
Both Bennett and Kozok made their Brave CF debut at “Brave 13: Europe Evolution.” It marked the Irish contender’s third professional MMA loss in a row.
Before losing to Bennett, Kozok was knocked out by Martin “The Heat” Begley of Northern Ireland at “UXC Fight Night 1: The Road to the Odyssey” on August 2, 2014. When Kozok made his professional MMA debut on July 6, 2013 at “Battle Zone FC,” he was knocked out by his American opponent Nick Laney.
By defeating Kozok at “Brave 13: Europe Evolution,” James scored his first professional MMA win. In 2017, the American fighter several wins at the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) World Champions.
Taking place at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland, “Brave 13: Europe Evolution” was graced by several celebrity athletes. Among them were former Bellator MMA fighter Bubba Jenkins, British professional boxer Amir Khan, English MMA fighter Darren “The Gorilla” Till, who competes in the welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship and former UFC Lightweight Champion Conor “Notorious” McGregor, who also trains at SBG Ireland.
In the co-main event of the evening, Norman “Stormin” Parke of Northern Ireland defeated Myles “Magic” Price of Ireland via unanimous decision. In the main event of the evening, reigning Brave CF Bantamweight Champion Stephen “The Sniper” Loman of the Philippines successfully defended his title from Frans “The Black Mamba” Mlambo of Ireland via unanimous decision.
