On June 29, 2018, Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado of the Philippines and Kritsada “Dream Man” Kongsrichai of Thailand will compete at “ONE: Spirit of a Warrior” at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar. This is the second ONE Championship event in the home country of Aung San Suu Kyi in 2018.
Miado and Kongsrichai will compete in the strawweight division. Currently reigning as the ONE Strawweight World Champion is Yoshitaka “Nobita” Naito of Japan.
“ONE: Spirit of a Warrior” marks Miado’s fourth bout in ONE Championship. He is coming out of a win over former ONE Strawweight World Champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke of Thailand.
Currently, Miado holds a professional mixed martial arts record of 7 wins and 2 losses. He has 1 win and 2 losses in ONE Championship.
On the other hand, Kongsrichai has 7 wins and 3 losses overall. Out of 5 bouts in the promotion, he recorded 4 wins and 1 loss.
Kongsrichai is looking to continue his three-bout winning streak at “ONE: Spirit of a Warrior.” He defeated Adrian Matheis of Indonesia at “ONE: Warrior Kingdom” on March 11, 2017 and siblings Rabin Catalan and Robin Catalan of the Philippines at “ONE: Warriors of the World” on December 9, 2017 and at “ONE: Iron Will” on March 24, 2018, respectively, all via technical knockout.
Headlining “ONE: Spirit of a Warrior” are reigning ONE Middleweight and Light Heavyweight World Champion “The Burmese Python” Aung La N Sang of Myanmar and Ken Hasegawa of Japan. Aung will defend his middleweight champion belt from Hasegawa, who is making his ONE Championship debut.
Titled “ONE: Quest for Gold,” ONE Championship’s first event in Myanmar in 2018 took place on February 23, 2018 at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium. In the main event, Aung won the ONE Light Heavyweight World Champion title after knocking out Alexandre “Bebezao” Machado of Brazil.
