From Baguio City, Philippines, Team Lakay has three representatives competing at “ONE Pinnacle of Power.” They are featherweight contender Edward “The Ferocious” Kelly, 34, flyweight contender Danny “The King” Kingad, 22, and ONE Interim Flyweight World Champion Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio, 29.

Taking place at the Studio City Event Center in Macau, China on June 23, 2018, “ONE: Pinnacle of Power” is one of the deepest cards from top to bottom offered by ONE Championship for its 24-event calendar in 2018. From the preliminary portion to the main card, there are plenty of bouts with championship and ranking implications.

In the co-main event, Eustaquio faces reigning ONE Flyweight World Champion Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes, 29, of Brazil to unify the titles. On the undercard, Kelly will face ONE Featherweight World Champion Narantungalag “Tungaa” Jadambaa, 42, of Mongolia while Kingad will compete against “The Southern Eagle” Ma Hao Bin, 24, of China.

Kingad could be knocking on the door for a world title shot again with a decisive win over Ma, who has aced six of his assignments since joining ONE Championship in 2016. This means that Kingad will find himself in a peculiar position if he and Eustaquio both win at “ONE: Pinnacle of Power.”

If Eustaquio is successful in unifying both titles against Moraes in Macau, Kingad has to be relegated to a gatekeeping role. Kingad commented, “I don’t mind filling that role if ever he wins against Adriano Moraes.”

“He is my senior and we are teammates,” Kingad said of Eustaquio. “He is like a brother to me.”

“I will be super happy for coach Geje if he wins the match in Macau,” Kingad said. “It’s an honor to be competing alongside him on June 23. I’ve learned a lot of things from him. For this training camp, I’ve spent more time with him. I want him to win the title.”

Meanwhile, here is Moraes talking about Kingad prior to their “ONE: Legends of the World” bout:
