Peng Xue Wen vs Eddey Kalai at ‘ONE: Battle for the Heavens’ in Guangzhou, China

ONE Championship has announced the complete fight card for “ONE: Battle for the Heavens,” which will take place at the Guangzhou Tianhe Gymnasium in Guangzhou, China on July 7, 2018. The second bout of the evening will be between Peng Xue Wen, 21, of China and Eddey “The Clown” Kalai, 36, of Malaysia.

Peng and Kalai will compete in the strawweight division. Currently reigning as the ONE Strawweight World Champion is Yoshitaka “Nobita” Naito, 34, of Chiba, Japan.

Both Peng and Kalai are coming out of a loss. The Chinese fighter was knocked out by Rene “D’ Challenger” Catalan, 39, of the Philippines via punches at “ONE: Kings of Courage” on January 20, 2018 while the Malaysian contender was submitted by Adrian Mattheis via rear-naked choke at “ONE: Global Superheroes” on January 26, 2018.

When Peng made his ONE Championship debut on November 10, 2017 at “ONE: Legends of the World,” he knocked out Phat Soda of Cambodia via slam. Kalai will be Peng’s third opponent in the promotion.

“ONE: Global Superheroes” marked Kalai’s ONE Championship debut. The Malaysian fighter has yet to win in a professional mixed martial arts bout but he made a record of 2 wins and 2 losses as an amateur fighter.

On the other hand, Peng holds a professional MMA record of 1 win and 3 losses. He is looking forward to follow up his victory over Soda by conquering Kalai at “ONE: Battle for the Heavens.”

Headlining “ONE: Battle for the Heavens” are Yodcherry Sityodtong, 19, of Thailand and Kai Ting “Killer Bee” Chuang, 23, of Taiwan, who will compete for the inaugural ONE Super Series Kickboxing Atomweight World Championship. It will be the 10th bout of the evening.
