ONE Championship and telecommunications giant Telenor Myanmar announced a strategic partnership in February 2018. This partnership enables the martial arts promotion to deliver the most exciting rendition of authentic Asian martial arts to fans in Myanmar, which is home to reigning ONE Middleweight and Light Heavyweight World Champion “The Burmese Python” Aung La N Sang, 33.
“ONE Championship is committed to delivering a unique and authentic martial arts experience to fans in Myanmar,” ONE Championship chief commercial officer Jack Lim stated. “The atmosphere is always electric whenever we visit, due in large part to hometown hero Aung La N Sang, who is revered and respected by all martial arts in the country for his embodiment of supreme skill and warrior heart which is a characteristic of the people he represents.”
Aung will defend his ONE Middleweight World Championship title from Ken Hasegawa, 31, of Japan at “ONE: Spirit of a Warrior” at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon on June 29, 2018. They had their face-off during the press conference on June 27, 2018 at the Pullman Yangon Centrepoint Hotel in Yangon, Myanmar, which was attended by Lim and Telenor Myanmar chief financial officer Yin Yin Htay.
“It is my privilege to be here to kick-off this amazing event,” Lim said. “Join us as we go live around the world at ‘ONE: Spirit of a Warrior’ this 29 June!”
The partnership between ONE Championship and Telenor Myanmar aims to leverage the capabilities of the two companies to collaborate in the area of martial arts-related content, digital assets and services, events and telecommunication services. All ONE Championship content can be accessed via the free ONE Supper App.
