Representing Thailand, Tukkatatong Petpayathai, 30, made a successful debut in ONE Super Series, the striking-only league of ONE Championship. On June 29, 2018, he conquered his French opponent at “ONE: Spirit of a Warrior” at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar.
Tukkatatong competed in a kickboxing contest in the welterweight division against Mehdi “Diamond Heart” Zatout, 35, of France at “ONE: Spirit of a Warrior.” It was the third bout of the evening and the first out of the three ONE Super Series bouts on the card.
After three three-minute rounds, the kickboxing contest between Tukkatatong and Zatout was left in the hands of the judges. Referee Atsushi Onari raised the hand of the Thai contender as the winner via unanimous decision.
By winning at “ONE: Spirit of a Warrior,” Tukkatatong improved his professional record to 241 wins, 33 losses and 2 draws. Born in Buriram, Thailand, he currently resides in Singapore where he is teaching martial arts.
A two-time Muay Thai World Champion, Tukkatatong is a member of Evolve MMA in Singapore. Like him, his teammates Sam-A Gaiyanghadao, Nong-O Gaiyanghadao and Singtongnoi Por Telakun have made successful ONE Super Series debuts.
On the other hand, Zatout’s professional record downgraded to 75 wins, 38 losses and 1 draw. He is an International Sport Karate Association (ISKA) and World Boxing Council (WBC) World Champion.
“ONE: Spirit of a Warrior” was headlined by reigning ONE Middleweight and Light Heavyweight World Champion “The Burmese Python” Aung La N Sang of Myanmar and Ken Hasegawa of Japan. They competed for the middleweight championship belt.
