Former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk, 30, has earned her ninth victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Fighting out of Olsztyn, Poland, she recently bounced back from two consecutive losses to reigning UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Rose “Thug” Namajunas, 26, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States.

Jedrzejczyk made her professional mixed martial arts debut in 2012 and joined the UFC in 2014. She was an undefeated fighter until she met Namajunas, the only fighter she failed to defeat.

Namajunas became the new UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion on November 4, 2017 by knocking out Jedrzejczyk at “UFC 217.” When they had their rematch at “UFC 223” on April 7, 2018, the American champ successfully defended her title from the Polish challenger.

After losing to Namajunas twice, Jedrzejczyk returned to the cage on July 28, 2018. She competed in the women’s strawweight division against Tecia “The Tiny Tornado” Torres, 28, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA at “UFC on Fox 30” at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

After three five-minute rounds, the women’s strawweight between Jedrzejczyk and Torres at “UFC on Fox 30” was left in the hands of the judges. In the end, the Polish contender had her hand raised by referee Keith Peterson as the winner via unanimous decision.

When Jedrzejczyk made her UFC debut on July 26, 2014 at “UFC on Fox 12,” she defeated Juliana Lima via unanimous decision. The Polish fighter followed it up with another win on December 13, 2014 at “UFC on Fox 13” where she defeated Claudia “Claudinha” Gadelha, 29, of Mossoro, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil via split decision.

On March 14, 2015, Jedrzejczyk became the new UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion. She dethroned Carla “Cookie Monster” Esparza, 30, of Redondo Beach, California, USA with a knockout via punches at “UFC 185.”

As the second UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion, Jedrzejczyk reigned from March 14, 2015 to November 4, 2017. She successfully defended her title from five challengers namely Gadelha, Jessica Penne, 35, of Huntington Beach, California, USA, Valerie “Trouble” Letourneau, 35, of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Karolina Kowalkiewicz, 32, of Lodz, Poland and Jessica “Bate Estaca” Andrade, 26, of Umuarama, Parana, Brazil.

By defeating Torres at “UFC on Fox 30,” Jedrzejczyk improved her professional MMA record to 15 wins and 2 losses. On the other hand, Torres now has 10 wins and 3 losses.
