After five bouts in ONE Championship, Vaughn “The Spawn” Donayre, 38, has signed a contract with Brave Combat Federation. Hailing from Cebu, Philippines, the Filipino mixed martial artist will have his debut in the Bahrain-based MMA promotion at “Brave 16” in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on September 21, 2018.

The newly signed Filipino Brave CF athlete competes in the lightweight division. At “Brave 16,” he will compete against Flavio Serafim of Brazil in a catchweight bout.

This also marks Serafim’s Brave CF debut. The Brazilian contender currently holds a professional MMA record of 5 wins and 2 losses.

On the other hand, Donayre has 8 wins and 7 losses. He is riding a four-bout winning streak.

On January 14, 2011, Donayre made a successful professional MMA debut at “URCC Cebu 6: Respect” by submitting his compatriot Lorde Rey “The Punisher” Yamit. On January 13, 2012, Donayre earned his second win by knocking out another compatriot Hans Christian Lamanilao at “URCC Cebu 7: Dominate.”

Donayre was an undefeated fighter from his debut until early 2014. He had his first loss when he was defeated by Gokhan “Pitbull” Turkyilmaz of Australia via unanimous decision at “Global Fighting Championship 3” on May 29, 2014.

After losing to Turkyilmaz, Donayre joined ONE Championship. The Filipino fighter lost to all of his five opponents in the Singapore-based MMA organization, namely Mohammed Walid of Dubai, UAE, Peter Davis, 37, of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Honorio “The Rock” Banario, 28, of Benguet, Philippines, Amir Khan, 23, of Singapore and Vincent “Magnivincent” Latoel, 39, of Deventer, Netherlands.

The last time Donayre won in the cage was on December 11, 2015. He knocked out Lucian Mocanasu via punches at “Hard Knox Fight Night.”

“Brave 16” marks Donayre’s return to the UAE. On January 25, 2016, he lost to Walid Seghir, 32, of Tourcoing, Nord, France via rear-naked choke submission at “Desert Force 20- Dubai,” which took place at the Skydive Dubai in Dubai.

Brave CF has yet to announce the specific venue of “Brave 16.” It gives Donayre a chance to earn his ninth professional MMA win and first victory in three years.
