Fighting out of Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, “Jungle Cat” Muhammad Aiman, 23, entered the cage as the underdog at “ONE: Beyond the Horizon.” He was able to triumph over his opponent, who was competing in his home country.

“ONE: Beyond the Horizon” took place at the Baoshan Arena in Shanghai, China on September 8, 2018. In the third bout of the evening, Aiman competed in the bantamweight division against “Rock Man” Chen Lei, 29, of Changde, Hunan, China.

The bantamweight bout between Chen and Aiman ended at 4:35 of Round 2. Referee Kemp Cheng put a stop to the contest when the Malaysian fighter submitted his Chinese opponent via rear-naked choke.

Losing to Aiman at “ONE: Beyond the Horizon” downgraded Chen’s professional MMA record to 8 wins and 1 loss. On the other hand, Aiman’s record improved to 5 wins and 2 losses.

This makes Aiman the first MMA fighter to defeat Chen. A former Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts (MIMMA) Featherweight Champion, the Seremban native is now riding a three-bout winning streak.

Aiman was successful when he made his ONE Championship debut. On September 2, 2016, he defeated Hisyam “Zephyrus” Samsudin, 27, of Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia at “ONE: Unbreakable Warriors” via unanimous decision.

On February 10, 2017, Aiman returned to the cage and faced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion Eduardo Novaes, 38, of Brazil at “ONE: Throne of Tigers.” The Malaysian fighter earned his second win in ONE Championship by knocking out his Brazilian opponent.

On April 21, 2017, Aiman had his first loss in ONE Championship when he faced then undefeated fighter Danny “The King” Kingad, 23, of the Philippines. The Filipino fighter defeated his Malaysian opponent via unanimous decision.

After the loss to Kingad, Aiman redeemed himself with two consecutive unanimous decision wins. The Malaysian fighter defeated “The Pugilist” Yang Fei of China at “ONE: Immortal Pursuit” on November 24, 2017 and Rin Saroth of Cambodia at “ONE: Visions of Victory” on March 9, 2018.
