Featuring 13 mixed martial arts matches, “UFC Fight Night 138” took place at the Avenir Centre in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada on October 27, 2018. In the seventh bout of the evening, Nordine Taleb, 37, of Montreal, Quebec, Canada faced Sean “Tarzan” Strickland, 27, of Corona, California, United States.

Blue Corner

Taleb was born in Saint-Tropez, France. He is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Firas Zahabi.

The French-Canadian MMA fighter competed in the middleweight division before moving to the welterweight division. “UFC Fight Night 138” marked his 10th UFC bout.

Red Corner

Strickland was born in New Bern, North Carolina, United States. He reigned as the King of the Cage Middleweight Champion before joining the UFC.

Training out of Millennia MMA Gym, Strickland is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. “UFC Fight Night 138” marked his 10th UFC bout.

Fight Result 

Taleb and Strickland competed in the welterweight division at “UFC Fight Night 138.” Currently reigning as the UFC Welterweight Champion is Tyron “The Chosen One” Woodley, 36, of St. Louis, Missouri, United States.

Referee Eric Nevitt put a stop to the welterweight bout between Taleb and Strickland at 3:09 of Round 2. The American fighter knocked out his French-Canadian opponent via punches.

Winning at “UFC Fight Night 138” improved Strickland’s professional MMA record to 20 wins and 3 losses. On the other hand, losing to the Corona native downgraded Taleb’s record to 14 wins and 6 losses.

“UFC Fight Night 138” Main Events

In the co-main event, Michael “The Menace” Johnson of Boca Raton, Florida, United States and Artem “The Russian Hammer” Lobov of Dublin, Ireland competed in a catch weight of 147 lbs. After three five-minute rounds, the American contender defeated his Russian-Irish opponent via unanimous decision.

In the main event, Volkan “No Time” Oezdemir of Fribourg, Switzerland and Anthony “Lionheart” Smith of Omaha, Nebraska, United States competed in the light heavyweight division. The American contender submitted his Swiss opponent via rear-naked choke at 4:26 of Round 3.
