Featuring 13 mixed martial arts matches, “UFC Fight Night 138” took place at the Avenir Centre in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada on October 27, 2018. In the sixth bout of the evening, Thibault “GT” Gouti, 31, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States faced Nasrat Haqrapast, 23, of Hamburg, Germany.
Blue Corner
Gouti was born in Toulouse, France and was a competitive squash player. Training out of Jacksonwink MMA Academie, the French-American fighter won one of his five UFC bouts prior to “UFC Fight Night 138.”
Red Corner
Haqparast, who is of Afghan descent, was born in Germany. “UFC Fight Night 138” marked his third UFC bout.
Gouti and Haqparast competed in the featherweight division at “UFC Fight Night 138.” Currently reigning as the UFC Featherweight Champion is Max Holloway.
After three five-minute rounds, the featherweight bout between Gouti and Haqparast was left in the hands of the judges. In the end, referee Barry Gallant raised the hand of the Afghan-German contender, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.
Winning at “UFC Fight Night 138” improved Haqparast’s professional MMA record to 10 wins and 2 losses. On the other hand, losing to the Afghan-German fighter downgraded Gouti’s record to 12 wins and 5 losses.
“UFC Fight Night 138” Main Events
In the co-main event, Michael “The Menace” Johnson of Boca Raton, Florida, United States and Artem “The Russian Hammer” Lobov of Dublin, Ireland competed in a catch weight of 147 lbs. After three five-minute rounds, the American contender defeated his Russian-Irish opponent via unanimous decision.
In the main event, Volkan “No Time” Oezdemir of Fribourg, Switzerland and Anthony “Lionheart” Smith of Omaha, Nebraska, United States competed in the light heavyweight division. The American contender submitted his Swiss opponent via rear-naked choke at 4:26 of Round 3.
