Albuquerque vs Orlando: Donald Cerrone, Mike Perry fight at ‘UFC Fight Night 139’ in Denver

The Ultimate Fighting Championship held “UFC Fight Night 139” at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado, United States on November 10, 2018. The fight card featured 12 mixed martial arts matches, three of which were female matches.

In the co-main event of the evening, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, 35, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States faced Mike “Platinum” Perry, 27, of Orlando, Florida, United States. They battled it out in the welterweight division.

Cerrone was born in Columbus, Ohio, United States on March 29, 1983. He is managed by KHI Management, LLC and is sponsored by Bell Helicopters, Realtree, Greenlee, E-Z-Go, Bad Boy Buggies, Monster Energy and Budweiser.

The fighter from Albuquerque is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Eliot Marshall. “UFC Fight Night 139” marked his 29th bout in the UFC.

Perry was born in Flint, Michigan, United States on September 15, 1991. He is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt training out of Jackson-Wink MMA Academy.

The Orlando resident has been competing professionally since 2014. “UFC Fight Night 139” marked his ninth UFC bout.

Fight Result

Referee Keith Peterson put a stop to the welterweight bout between Cerrone and Perry at 4:46 of Round 1. The fighter from Albuquerque submitted his opponent from Orlando via armbar.

Winning at “UFC Fight Night 139” improved Cerrone’s professional MMA record to 34 wins, 11 losses and 1 No Contest. It was his 21st win in the UFC.

On the other hand, Perry now has 12 wins and 4 losses. He has 5 wins and 4 losses in the UFC.

“UFC Fight Night 139” Main Event

In the main event, “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung, 31, of Seoul, South Korea and Yair “El Pantera” Rodriguez, 26, of Chicago, Illinois, United States competed in the featherweight division. The American contender knocked out his Korean opponent via elbow at 4:59 of Round 5.
