One of the female matches was between Maycee “The Future” Barber, 20, of Denver, Colorado, United States and Hannah “Shockwave” Cifers, 26, of Durham, North Carolina, United States. They battled it out in the women’s strawweight division.
Barber’s martial arts training started when she was three years old. She was born in Greeley, Colorado, United States on May 18, 1998.
The Colorado native is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blue belt. “UFC Fight Night 139” marked her first official UFC bout after her win over Jamie Colleen, 33, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States at Dana White’s Tuesday Contender Series Season 2.
Cifers has been competing professionally since 2013. She previously competed in Titan Fighting Championships.
The North Carolina native is training out of Elevate MMA Academy in Durham. She made her UFC debut at “UFC Fight Night 139.”
Referee Kevin MacDonald put a stop to the women’s strawweight contest between Barber and Cifers at 2:01 of Round 2. The fighter from Colorado knocked out her opponent from North Carolina via elbows and punches.
By winning at “UFC Fight Night 139,” Barber maintained her undefeated record. She improved her professional MMA record to 6 wins and 0 loss.
On the other hand, losing to Barber ended Cifer’s five-bout losing streak. The North Carolina native now has 8 wins and 3 losses.

In the co-main event of the evening, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, 35, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States and Mike “Platinum” Perry, 27, of Orlando, Florida, United States battled it out in the welterweight division. The fighter from Albuquerque submitted his opponent from Orlando via armbar at 4:46 of Round 1.
In the main event, “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung, 31, of Seoul, South Korea and Yair “El Pantera” Rodriguez, 26, of Chicago, Illinois, United States competed in the featherweight division. The American contender knocked out his Korean opponent via elbow at 4:59 of Round 5.
