The Kingdom of Thailand is a country in Southeast Asia. Historically known as Siam, the country is bordered by Laos and Myanmar to the north, Cambodia and Laos to the east, the Andaman Sea and Myanmar to the west and the Gulf of Thailand Malaysia to the south.
On December 16, 1946, Thailand was admitted to the United Nations. The country’s incumbent prime minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, 64, assumed office on May 22, 2014.
Vajiralongkorn, 66, has been reigning as the king of Thailand since October 13, 2016. The country’s current constitution was adopted on April 6, 2017.
