Written by Troy Espiritu, “Alpha, the Right to Kill” touches the controversial battle between illegal drugs and the government of the Philippines under the leadership of President Rodrigo Duterte. In the main cast of the film are Baron Geisler, Allen Dizon and Elijah Filamor.
Geisler plays Norman “Abel” Bautista, one of the most notorious drug kingpins in Manila. Dizon and Filamor’s respective characters are PO3 Moises Espino, a corrupt police officer, and Elijah, a small-time drug pusher.
Elijah becomes an informant and works with Espino to provide intelligence for an operation to arrest Abel in a hideout in the slums of Manila. The operation turns out to be a risky encounter involving Abel’s gang and police SWAT teams.
Prior to “Alpha, the Right to Kill,” Geisler, Dizon and Filamor starred in the Netflix series “Amo,” which was also written by Espiritu and Mendoza. Apollo Abraham and Nikko de los Santos also starred in both the film and the series.
