Fighting out of Hawaii, United States, Lowen Tynanes, 28, was one of the winners at “ONE: Hero’s Ascent” on January 25, 2019 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It was the sixth time he won in ONE Championship.

An undefeated fighter, Tynanes retained his perfect record with a first-round finish of former ONE Featherweight World Champion Honorio “The Rock” Banario, 29, of Benguet, Philippines in a ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix Quarter-Final matchup.  The latter is representing Team Lakay.

After a brief exchange on the feet, Tynanes drove Banario to the mat with a single leg. On the ground, the Hawaiian fighter quickly took the mounted crucifix position and pounded his Filipino opponent with sharp punches and elbows to earn the technical knockout victory.

Losing to Tynanes downgraded Banario’s professional MMA record to 14 wins and 8 losses. On the other hand, the undefeated Hawaiian fighter now has 10 wins and 0 loss.

Training out of Hawaii Elite MMA in Waipahu, Hawaii, Tynanes has been competing professionally since 2011. On December 1, 2012, he defeated Eduard “Landslide” Folayang, 35, of Team Lakay at “URCC 22: Dekada” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

In 2013, Tynanes defeated Vuyisile “The Cheetah” Colossa, 36, of South Africa at “ONE: Return of Warriors” in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Felipe Enomoto, 36, of Japan  at “ONE: Rise to Power” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. In 2015, the Hawaiian fighter defeated Kuat Khamitov at “ONE: Warrior’s Quest” in Kallang, Singapore and Rasul Yakhyaev at “ONE: Kingdom of Khmer” in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

On April 15, 2016, Tynanes earned his fifth win in ONE Championship. He defeated Koji “The Commander” Ando, 33, of Japan at “ONE: Global Rivals” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

After the victory over Ando, Tynanes had a reoccurring back injury. He went on a hiatus for more than two years and “ONE: Hero’s Ascent” marked his ONE Championship comeback.

Here is Tynanes with his fellow undefeated ONE Championship athlete Reinier de Ridder at the “ONE: Hero’s Ascent” post-fight conference:
