Rika “Tinydoll” Ishige, 29, is one of the six fighters representing Thailand at “ONE: Clash of Legends.” Training out of Tiger Muay Thai and Bangkok Fight Lab, she is ready to show a new version of herself in the first ONE Championship event in Thailand in 2019.
“I have learned a lot of lessons over the past year, about myself and about my abilities as a martial artist,” Ishige stated. “I can say that I am a much more improved, more focused Rika Ishige this time around. I am looking to capitalize on my most recent victory and in my next match, I will showcase all of my improvements.”
Featuring four Muay Thai bouts and eight mixed martial arts matches, “ONE: Clash of Legends” will take place at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on February 16, 2019. In the second bout of the evening, Ishige will face Nou Srey Pov, 24, of Cambodia in an MMA match in the women’s atomweight division.
“The ONE Women’s Atomweight division is very deep and there are a lot of exciting young talents including myself,” Ishige said. “I plan to climb up the ladder this year and defeat whoever is in front of me to bring me closer to the World Title.”
“ONE: Clash of Legends” marks Ishige’s seventh ONE Championship bout. If she beats Nou, it will be the Thai-Japanese fighter’s fifth win in the promotion.
Including Thailand, 13 countries will be represented at “ONE: Hero’s Ascent.” The other countries are Cambodia, China, France, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Russia, South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States.
ONE Championship held the “ONE: Clash of Legends” open workout on January 28, 2019 at the P.K. Saenchai Muay Thai Gym in Bangkok, Thailand. In attendance were Ishige and her fellow Thai ONE Championship athletes namely Nong-O Gaiyanghadao, 32, Superlek Kiatmoo9, 23, Chamuaktong Fightermuaythai, 30, Kongsak P.K.Saenchaimuaythaigym, 28, and Shannon “OneShin” Wiratchai, 30.
Representing Thailand, “Smokin” Jo Nattawut, 29, is also on the “ONE: Clash of Legends” card. He will face Samy “AK47” Sana, 30, of France in a Muay Thai bout in the featherweight division.
