Thailand’s Superlek Kiatmoo9 to make ONE Super Series debut at ‘ONE: Clash of Legends’

Fighting out of Thailand, Superlek Kiatmoo9, 23, will make his debut in ONE Championship’s striking-only league ONE Super Series at “ONE: Clash of Legends.” He will be one of the six fighters representing Thailand in the first ONE Championship event to take place in the country in 2019.

On January 28, 2019, ONE Championship held the “ONE: Clash of Legends” open workout at the P.K. Saenchai Muay Thai Gym in Bangkok, Thailand. In attendance were Superlek and his fellow Thai ONE Championship athletes namely Rika “Tinydoll” Ishige, 29, Nong-O Gaiyanghadao, 32, Chamuaktong Fightermuaythai, 30, Kongsak P.K.Saenchaimuaythaigym, 28, and Shannon “OneShin” Wiratchai, 30.

Featuring four Muay Thai bouts and eight mixed martial arts matches, “ONE: Clash of Legends” will take place at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on February 16, 2019. In the fifth bout of the evening, Superlek will face Lao Chetra, 19, of Cambodia in a Muay Thai bout in the flyweight division.

I’m so excited because this is my first time in ONE Championship,” Superlek stated during the “ONE: Clash of Legends” open workout. “It’s a new and bigger stage, new rules. Everything is new. I have never seen anything like this before.”

“I started training with smaller 4oz. grappling gloves and now I’m getting used to it,” Superlek continued. “Joining ONE Championship makes me proud and happy because this is the world stage. It’s definitely the biggest organization I’ve ever competed in my life. I have to do my best to go as far as I can as my goal is to become a ONE World Champion.”

Kongsak will compete in the co-main event of the evening. He will face Alaverdi “Dagger” Ramazanov, 24, of Russia in a Muay Thai bout in the bantamweight division.

In the main event, Nong-o will face Han Zi Hao, 23, of China for the inaugural ONE Super Series Muay Thai Bantamweight World Championship.

Including Thailand, 13 countries will be represented at “ONE: Hero’s Ascent.” The other countries are Cambodia, China, France, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Russia, South Korea, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Representing Thailand, “Smokin” Jo Nattawut, 29, is also on the “ONE: Clash of Legends” card. He will face Samy “AK47” Sana, 30, of France in a Muay Thai bout in the featherweight division.
