Team Lakay’s Jon Chris Corton to have 2nd Brave CF bout at ‘Brave 22: Storm of Warriors’

Training out of Team Lakay in La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines, Jon Chris “Happy Feet” Corton, 26, is one of the Filipino mixed martial artists competing at “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors.” It marks his second outing in Bahrain-based MMA promotion Brave Combat Federation.

“Brave 22: Storm of Warriors” will take place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines on March 15, 2019. It marks Brave CF’s debut in the country, which is home to reigning Brave CF Bantamweight Champion Stephen “The Sniper” Loman, 23.

Also training out of Team Lakay, Loman will defend his belt for the third time at “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors.” His challenger is former Brave CF Featherweight Champion Elias “Smile” Boudegzdame, 25, of France.

On the other hand, Corton will face Abdul “Abba” Hussein, 21, of Finland at “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors.” They will compete in the flyweight division.

Training out of Espoon Kehähait in Espoo, Finland, Hussein has 1 win and 1 loss in Brave CF. “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors” marks his third bout in the promotion.

Currently, Hussein holds a professional MMA record of 5 wins and 1 loss. On the other hand, Corton has 6 wins and 3 losses.

On September 21, 2018, Corton made his Brave CF debut at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates at “Brave 16,” which featured 11 bouts. In the first bout of the evening, he defeated Hussein “Iron” Ayyad, 24, of Manama, Bahrain via unanimous decision in the flyweight division.

“Brave 16” marked the first time Corton competed outside the Philippines. He is currently riding a three-bout winning streak.

Corton has been competing professionally since 2012. Before joining Brave CF, he competed in the Universal Reality Combat Championship and Pacific Xtreme Combat.

The championship title of Brave CF in the flyweight division is currently vacant. Including Loman, the promotion has five reigning champions.
