Training out of Cambodian Top Team in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Kun Khmer World Champion Nou Srey Pov, 24, made her successful ONE Championship debut on February 16, 2019. She defeated Rika “Tiny Doll” Ishige, 29, of Thailand at “ONE: Clash of Legends” at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
“ONE: Clash of Legends” is the first ONE Championship event in Thailand in 2019 and it featured five Muay Thai contests and seven mixed martial arts bouts. In the second bout of the evening, Nou and Ishige battled it out in an MMA bout in the women’s atomweight division.
Kemp Cheng served as the referee of the atomweight bout between Nou and Ishige. The Cambodian newcomer showcased her pinpoint accurate striking early on, peppering her Thai-Japanese opponent with stinging kicks and stiff punches.
Ishige boldly traded strikes with Nou from bell to bell. However, it was the Cambodian Top Team athlete who landed the more telling blows.
After three five-minute rounds, the bout was left in the hands of the judges. In the end, Cheng raised the hand of Nou, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.
Winning at “ONE: Clash of Legends” improved Nou’s professional MMA record to 1 win and 0 loss. On the other hand, Ishige’s professional MMA record to 4 wins and 3 losses.
Including Thailand and Cambodia, 14 countries were represented at “ONE: Clash of Legends.” The other countries were China, France, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Russia, South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States.
