Shuya “Stealth” Kamikubo, 25, of Japan was one of the winners at “ONE: Clash of Legends” at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on February 16, 2019. It was the Nihon University graduate’s third win in ONE Championship.

“ONE: Clash of Legends” is the first ONE Championship event in Thailand in 2019 and it featured five Muay Thai contests and seven mixed martial arts bouts. In the 10th bout of the evening, Kamikubo faced Dae Hwan “Ottogi” Kim, 32, of South Korea in an MMA bout in the strawweight division.

Olivier Coste served as the referee of the strawweight match between Kim and Kamikubo. The Japanese contender showcased his elite-level grappling as he took his Korean opponent down at will and punished him on the mat with ground-and-pound.

After three five-minute rounds, the bout was left in the hands of the judges. In the end, Coste raised the hand of Kamikubo, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

Winning at “ONE: Clash of Legends” improved Kamikubo’s professional MMA record to 10 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw. The Japanese fighter, who is training out of Try H Studio and Itadaki Jiu Jitsu, is undefeated in ONE Championship.

On the other hand, Kim now has 14 wins, 4 losses and 1 draw. He is training out of KukJe Gym and Ryeong Promotion in Seoul, South Korea.

Including South Korea and Japan, 14 countries were represented at “ONE: Clash of Legends.” The other countries were Cambodia, China, France, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Russia, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States.
