Nong-o Gaiyanghadao, 32, of Thailand is the inaugural ONE Super Series Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion. He earned the title by defeating Han Zi Hao, 23, of China in the main event of “ONE: Clash of Legends” at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on February 16, 2019.
“ONE: Clash of Legends” is the first ONE Championship event in Thailand in 2019. The fight card featured five Muay Thai contests and seven mixed martial arts bouts.
Atsushi Onari served as the referee of the “ONE: Clash of Legends” main event. For five rounds, Nong-o put on a striking clinic as he unleashed a wave of kicks and punches that knocked Han down on multiple occasions.
After four three-minute rounds, the bout was left in the hands of the judges. In the end, Onari raised the hand of the Nong-o, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.
Mitch Chilson asked Gaiyanghadao how he felt during the post-fight interview inside the ring. Through his translator Sudchaya Muadmuang, the new ONE Super Series Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion said he was excited and thanked his his supporters, his family and ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong.
Including Thailand and China, 14 countries were represented at “ONE: Clash of Legends.” The other countries were Cambodia, France, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Russia, South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States
