Representing the Philippines, Rolando Gabriel “Dy Incredible” Dy, 28, was one of the winners at “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors.” It was his second bout in Brave Combat Federation and first victory in the Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion.
Featuring nine MMA bouts, “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors” took place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines on March 15, 2019. In the sixth bout of the evening, Dy faced Mehmosh “The Renegade” Raza, 23, of Pakistan in the featherweight division with Thomas Fan as the referee.
The featherweight contest ended in the first round. Exhibiting his topnotch boxing skills, Dy convincingly beat Raza via technical knockout.
“I would die before losing in front of my family, friends and countrymen,” Dy said in his post-fight interview with Kirik Jenness inside the cage. “Thanks, Brave Combat Federation, for having me fight at home again.”
Winning at “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors” improved Dy’s professional MMA record to 11 wins, 7 loses and 1 No Contest. On the other hand, Raza now has 9 wins and 4 losses.
Born on August 11, 1991 in Parañaque City, Dy is the son of World Boxing Council World Super Featherweight Champion Rolando Navarrete, 61. As an MMA fighter, Dy has been competing professionally since 2011.
Dy won one of his three bouts in the Ultimate Fighting Championship and defeated Izzeddine Al Derbani of Jordan at “Abu Dhabi Warriors 5.” His Brave CF debut on April 23, 2017 at “Brave 5” against Nelson Paes of India ended in a No Contest due to accidental head clash.
On the other hand, Raza was born on March 16, 1995 in Islamabad, Pakistan and he has been competing professionally since 2015. He reigned as the Aspera FC Featherweight Champion before joining Brave CF.
On October 27, 2018, Raza made his successful Brave CF but at “Brave 17” in his home country. He submitted Arben “Bigbang” Escayo, 31, of Manila, Philippines via guillotine choke.
