Training out of Fairtex Gym in Pattaya, Thailand, Saemapetch Fairtex, 23, was one of the winners at “ONE: Roots of Honor.” It was his third victory in ONE Championship’s striking-only league ONE Super Series.

Featuring two kickboxing contests, two Muay Thai bouts and 11 mixed martial arts matches, “ONE: Roots of Honor” took place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines on April 12, 2019. In the fifth bout of the evening, Saemapetch faced Ognjen Topic, 33, of Serbia and the United States in a Muay Thai match in the bantamweight division with Elias Dolaptsis as the referee.

Once again, Saemapetch was  victorious on the ONE Super Series stage as he outstruck Topic en route to a hard-earned a majority decision win. The Thai legend was aggressive from the opening bell, overwhelming his Serbian-American opponent with a seemingly unending barrage of strikes.

In the final round, Topic rallied late but it proved to be too late. After three three-minute rounds, the bantamweight bout was left in the hands of the judges and in the end, Dolaptsis raised the hand of Saemapetch, who was declared the winner via majority decision.

Winning “ONE: Roots of Honor” improved Saemapetch’s professional Muay Thai record to 120 wins, 15 losses and 1 draw. On the other hand, Topic now has 33 wins, 22 losses and 2 draws.

Including Thailand, Serbia and the U.S., 18 countries were represented at “ONE: Roots of Honor.” The other countries were Afghanistan, Australia, Brazil, China, Cuba, Indonesia, Japan, Mongolia, Morocco, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Romania, Singapore, South Korea and Vietnam.

“ONE: Roots of Honor” marked Saemapetch’s third ONE Super Series bout. He defeated Deividas “The Savage Sitsongpeenong” Danyla, 26, of Lithuania on July 7, 2018 at “ONE: Battle for the Heavens” at the Guangzhou Tianhe Gymnasium in Guangzhou, China and Alaverdi “Dagger” Ramazanov, 23, of Russia on November 23, 2018 at “ONE: Conquest of Champions” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
