Fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Raoni Barcelos, 32, was one of the winners at “UFC 237.” It was his third victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Featuring 12 mixed martial arts matches, “UFC 237” took place at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on May 11, 2019. In the second bout of the evening, Barcelos fought Carlos “Perro Malo” Huachin, 22, of Lima, Peru in the bantamweight division with Eduardo Herdy as the referee.

Herdy put a stop to the bantamweight contest after 4 minutes and 49 seconds in the second round. Barcelos knocked out Huachin via elbows and punches.

Winning at “UFC 237″improved Barcelos’s professional MMA record to 14 wins and 1 loss. On the other hand, Huachin now has 10 wins and 4 losses.

“UFC 237” marked Barcelos’s third UFC bout. He previously competed in Shooto Brazil, Web Fight Combat and Resurrection Fighting Alliance and is now riding a seven-bout winning streak.

On July 14, 2018, Barcelos knocked out Kurt Holobaugh, 32, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, United States via punches at “UFC Fight Night 133” in Boise, Idaho, USA. On November 30, 2018, the former submitted Chris “El Guapo” Gutierrez, 28, of Greenville, Texas, USA via rear-naked choke at the finale of “The Ultimate Fighter 28” at the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Barcelos was one of the 14 fighters who represented Brazil at “UFC 237” while Huachin solely represented Peru. The other countries were Argentina, Australia, Mexico and the U.S.

Born in Brazil on May 1, 1985, Barcelos has been competing professionally since 2012. He is training out of CT Laerte Barcelos in Rio de Janeiro.
