Paraestra Matsudo’s Yoshitaka Naito earns 4th ONE Championship win, beats Alex Silva at ‘ONE: Enter the Dragon’ in Singapore

Training out The Paraestra Matsudo in Chiba, Japan, Yoshitaka “Nobita” Naito, 35, was one of the winners at “ONE: Enter the Dragon.” It was his fourth victory in ONE Championship.

Featuring 10 mixed martial arts matches and six ONE Super Series contests, which were six kickboxing bouts, “ONE: Enter the Dragon” was the Singapore-based martial arts organization’s second event in 2019 that took place in Singapore. In the seventh bout of the evening, Naito fought Alex “Little Rock” Silva, 36, in an MMA match in the strawweight division.

Naito was relentless in his attack as he grounded Silva at will. The Japanese contender took the Brazilian grappler down and kept him down for the majority of the bout.

Olivier Coste served as the referee. After three five-minute rounds, the strawweight bout was left in the hands of the judges and in the end, the referee raised the hand of Naito, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

It was the third time Naito and Silva battled it out inside the ONE Championship cage. In their first encounter on December 9, 2017, the Brazilian contender dethroned the Japanese fighter as the reigning ONE Strawweight World Champion.

On May 12, 2018, Naito redeemed his belt from Silva. Aside from Silva, the other opponents Naito defeated in ONE Championship were former ONE Strawweight World Champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke, 40, of Thailand and reigning ONE Strawweight World Champion Joshua “Passion” Pacio, 23, of the Philippines.

Winning at “ONE: Enter the Dragon” improved the professional MMA record of Naito to 14 wins and 3 losses. On the other hand, Silva now has 7 wins and 4 losses.

Silva was one of the two representatives of Brazil at “ONE: Enter the Dragon” while Naito was one of the four representatives of Japan. Argentina, Australia, Argentina, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, the Republic of Moldova, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine and the United States were also represented.

Born in Japan on February 17, 1984, Naito has been competing professionally since 2012. He joined ONE Championship in 2016.

The Paraestra Matsudo athlete reigned as the ONE Strawweight World Champion from May 27, 2016 to December 8, 2017 and from May 12, 2018 to September 22, 2018. “ONE: Enter the Dragon” marked his seventh bout in ONE Championship.
