Thailand will be among the “Fast and Furious 9” filming locations. This marks the first time the country is used as a location in the “Fast and Furious” film series.
The production will bring Thailand an estimated amount of 340 million baht. There will be three locations in the country namely Krabi, Ko Pha-ngan and Phuket.
On June 15, 2019, “Fast and Furious 9” production manager Piya Petonji met with Krabi Governor M.L. Kitibadee Prawit at the Krabi City Hall to talk about logistics with Apichai Aranyik, the head of the Tourism Authority of Thailand in Krabi. On June 24, 2019, principal photography started at Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire, England.
Filming for “Fast and Furious 9” started at a palm plantation in Khao Thong, Krabi on July 1, 2019, according to Khaosod English. Local Winai Kan-ngen told the publication, “Although I wanted to see what was going on, the crew asked us not to enter the filming site.
Ko Pha-ngan is an island in the province of Surat Thani in Thailand. The island is visited by an average of 458,000 tourists every year as of 2018.
Sitting in the Gulf of Thailand, Ko Pha-ngan is best known for its Full Moon Party at Hat Rin Beach. The island is perfect for tourists who love diving, hiking, kayaking, trekking, snorkeling, meditating, chasing waterfalls and eating exotic vegan cuisine.

Anna Sawai, Finn Cole, Vinnie Bennett and John Cena are confirmed to be in the cast but their respective roles have yet to be revealed.
