Japan is one of the host countries of the first ONE Esports events. ONE Championship has confirmed the upcoming events of the esports world championship series, including the ONE TEKKEN Tokyo Invitational and the ONE Street Fighter Tokyo Challenge.

ONE Championship will celebrate its historic 100th live event by holding “ONE: Century 世紀” at the Ryōgoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan on October 13, 2019. As part of the celebration, the organization will hold the inaugural World Martial Arts Week in Tokyo from October 5-13, 2019.

World Martial Arts Week will kick off with the ONE Martial Arts Fan Fest from October 5-6, 2019 at Bellesalle Shibuya Garden in Tokyo. It will feature athlete open workouts and meet-and-greet with ONE Championship superstars Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson, 32, “Unstoppable” Angela Lee, 23, Brandon “The Truth” Vera, 41, along with mixed legends Miesha “Cupcake” Tate, 32, and Rich “Ace” Franklin, 44.

The ONE Martial Arts Fan Fest will combined the very best of martial arts and esports. A special edition ONE Tekken Tokyo Invitational will be held at the event featuring the best Tekken players in the world.

ONE eSports  is a joint venture of ONE Championship and Dentsu Inc., the largest global advertising agency in Japan. The partnership was announced on November 7, 2018 in a press conference at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center in Singapore.

“We are grateful to be part of the powerful global momentum behind ONE Championship,” Dentsu content business design center director Shuntaro Tanaka stated. “We intend to leverage our entire Dentsu and Dentsu Aegis network to realize sales and business opportunities for ONE Esports and make a historic step in the growing esports market in Asia together.”

The first ever ONE Championship event to take place in Japan was “ONE: A New Era.” It was headlined by Shinya Aoki of Japan and Eduard Folayang of the Philippines.
