Fighting out of Italy, Mauro “The Hammer” Cerilli, 41, of Italy is returning to the Philippines with a mission to redeem himself. He is set to compete at “ONE: Dawn of Heroes,” the third ONE Championship event in 2019 to take place in the Philippines.
Cerilli will be the only representative of Italy at “ONE: Dawn of Heroes,” which will take place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines on August 2, 2019. The other countries that will be represented are Australia, Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, the United Kingdom, the United States and Vietnam.
On the fight card are 13 MMA matches and two Muay Thai matches. In the eighth bout of the evening, Cerilli will compete in an MMA bout in the heavyweight division against Arjan ‘Singh” Bhullar, 33, of India.
Cerilli started his training in judo when he was 6 years old. As a professional MMA fighter, he has been competing since 2012.
Training out of Hammer Team and Gloria Fight Center in Rome, Italy, Cerilli made his ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Conquest of Champions” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on November 23, 2018. He was knocked out by ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon “The Truth” Vera, 41, of the Philippines.
“ONE: Dawn of Heroes” marks Cerilli’s third ONE Championship outing. He is coming out of a knockout victory at “ONE: Reign of Valor” in Myanmar on March 8, 2019 against Alain “The Panther” Ngalani, 44, of Hong Kong and Cameroon.
In the main event of “ONE: Dawn of Heroes,” Koyomi “Moushigo” Matsushima, 26, of Japan will challenge ONE Featherweight World Champion Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen, 30, and Reece “Lightning” McLaren, 27, of Australia and Vietnam. In the co-main event, “The Iron Man” Rodtang Jitmuangon, 22, of Thailand will challenge reigning ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Jonathan “The General” Haggerty, 22, of the U.K.
